At its best, the game offers up real moments of intense gunplay. Modern Combat 4 might be a small step backwards but it's still an impressive, action- packed adventure. The maps are really well designed and create intense gameplay. MC4 is more tactical, has more grenades and other devices, and generally has more options. Making kills in MC3 feels rewarding, and it is really fun to get on kill streaks. Is Modern Combat 4 or 3 better? MC3 is faster and more like Call of Duty. The other thing you need to know about Modern Combat 5: Blackout is you can't play offline, so if you don't have Internet connectivity, you can't play even the single-player missions.
